With 40 years’ experience writing columns for QWeekend, Back Chat and The Courier Mail, high-profile Queensland journalist Mike O’Connor spent a week living at The Village Yeronga and wrote about his experience.
His week proved to be very eventful, with staff and residents showcasing the best that The Village has to offer. Our art group showed him just how talented they are and how much fun they have getting together, he witnessed our cards, Mahjong and bridge groups in action, and joined the boys for a laughter filled lunch in the restaurant.
For most of us though, the highlight of the week was the fashion parade staged with plenty of style and verve by our womens group. We all had a ball and the men even came along and ‘helped’ serve drinks.
